Student Government Inside Access

Hello LPS community, this is Chris Whitmore once again with your third Student Government Update. Today I'm going to give you your second Inside Access pass to see what new and old projects your Student Government is working on.

To recap on what I wrote about in the previous article, the Student Government Officers have started a new program that involves old students as well as new students. We are organizing an Ambassador's program where thriving students like yourselves provide helping hands for new students entering throughout the year. Ambassadors will do things such as welcoming your assigned student on their first day at LPS, giving them a tour of the school, helping them get involved in programs, helping them adjust to their classes and teachers, and checking in on them to make sure they're okay. This program is open for any student to join. If the leadership opportunity doesn't persuade you then I hope the fact that it can look good on a college application might.

Next is fundraising. Last week the Peer Leaders had a successful bake sale and it gave us a big boost to the funds that we need to create events for the school. Thank you to all the students who supported the bake sale. Soon the work we have been doing and the support you have been giving will pay off when we can finally host the great events we have planned.

The first event to start of the year is Spirit Week! The Peer Leaders are currently planning a week of wacky, crazy, and fun activities to boost up the energy on campus. It will be a week you certainly want to be a part of to see what LPS spirit is all about!

Well thats about it for right now. I can't give away too much in one article. Be sure to check in to the Voices of LPS Richmond tomorrow and everyday to read updates by me, but until then your access has been expired.
