Family Meeting: October 2, 2009

It's The 6th week of School, can you believe it? Well, you should because it is so true, and we as a school have accomplished so much. One of those things is what happens every Friday in the afternoon, Family Meeting. I'm here to give you all the details about what happened.

First, Family Meeting began with a poem by one of Ms.Lac's freshmen English class students. The poem was written by Edgar Rosales. Two classmates read his poem and we were all amazed by how intense and meaningful the poem was. Great Job, Edgar!

Hispanic Heritage Month Continued with Eyda Escobar, Karen Viveros, and Shirley Lara speaking to us about three important individuals. They spoke about, Frida Kahlo, Jose Hernandez, and Selena Quintanilla Perez. If you would like to read biographies about other imprtant hispanics follow this link

"The Risha Show True Life:Im Going To College," was a segment about 5 LPS seniors and the things they had to do and the things they had to overcome to accomplish and succeed before college. It was a good way for everyone to see what it is like and how preparing for college is a journey that every LPS Richmond student will take and experience.

Everyone loves Pumas of The Week! This year, things changed a bit, like the winning shirts changing from purple to orange and instead of having all nominees and winners scattered around the location, now they are all located in the middle of our Family Meeting.
